Khamani Griffin is a young American actor who is so far best known for starring in the role of Bobby James in the television comedy series “All of Us”. Additionally, he is recognized for voice acting as Tolee in the TV animated fantasy series “Ni Hao, Kai-Lan”, as well as for appearing in comedy movies “Daddy Day Care” in 2003 and “Norbit” in 2007.

Early Life and Childhood

Khamani was born under the astrological sign of Leo on the 1st August 1998, in Oakland, California; he’s of American nationality and African American ethnicity. He has an older brother named De’Von Flournoy, born in 1990, who is an American Football player for the USC Trojans at the University of Southern California, as well as a younger sister named Aniela. Acting Career

Griffin’s on-camera acting career began at his very early age of five, when he landed the role of Benjamin ‘Ben’ Hinton in the family comedy film “Daddy Day Care”, with Eddy Murphy in the leading role. Following the movie’s commercial success, grossing over $160 million at the box office, young Khamani’s career was set on a rising path especially after he earned a nomination for the Young Artist Award.

To greater prominence he came later that year when he landed one of the leading roles in the UPN’s critically acclaimed TV comedy series “All of Us”. Created by Will and Jada Pinkett Smith, the story follows Robert James’ life after divorce, and his daily adventures with his wife, ex-wife and son Robert ‘Bobby’ James Jr., portrayed by young Griffin. In the course of the next five years, Khamani appeared in a total of 88 episodes of the show, through its’ four seasons before it was eventually called off in 2007.

For this role, Khamani received two consecutive nominations for the Young Artist Award, in 2007 and 2008.

In 2005, he appeared in an episode of probably the most famous TV medial drama series, “ER” before appearing in an episode of the four-time Golden Globe-nominated television comedy series “My Name is Earl”. Later that year Griffin voice acted for the adventure comedy animated film “Barnyard”, and in the Oscar-winning animated movie “Happy Feet” before appearing in the television series “Entourage”.

In 2007, he appeared in the Oscar-nominated comedy movie “Norbit”, with Eddi Murphy in leading roles (yes, roles! – he appeared as both Norbit and Rasputia), in which he starred as a five-year-old Norbit. Later that year, he appeared in a couple of episodes of the “Carpoolers” TV series.

Between 2007 and 2011, Khamani voice-acted in the TV animated series “Hi Hao, Kai-Lan” while adding several guest appearances in other popular television series during that time, such as “Without a Trace”, “NCIS” and “Grey’s Anatomy”.

In 2011 Griffin voice acted for the animated movie “The Little Engine That Could”, which was followed by another voice-acting engagement in the Golden Globe-nominated 2012 animated blockbuster film “Rise of the Guardians“. Prior to appearing in several episodes of the Golden Globe-winning TV comedy series “Modern Family” in 2013, Khamani made an appearance in the TV series “Sofia the First“, and voice-acted in the positively reviewed animated comedy film “Cloudy With a Chance of Meatballs 2”.

His most recent on-camera engagement occurred in 2017, when he appeared in an episode of the TV comedy series “The Mick”. Apart from the abovementioned, in 2009 Khamani appeared alongside T-Pain, Charlie Wilson and Lil’ Kim in the music video for her song “Download”.
