Oona Father Gideon Yaffe Is A Professor of Psychology at Yale

Gideon Yaffle, the father of young actress Oona, is a professor of Psychology and philosophy at Yale.

Previously, he was an Associate Professor of Philosophy and Law at the University of Southern California. He is Wesley Newcomb Hohfeld, a professor of Jurisprudence and psychology at Yale Law School.

The courses taught by Yaffle are criminal law and administration, philosophy of law, addiction, and the law: perspectives from philosophy, economics, and neuroscience.

Yaffle’s research areas are the philosophy of law, criminal law, in particular, the study of metaphysics which includes causation, personal identity, and free will.

The passionate professor has also penned about the history of early modern philosophy; attempts, a 2010 book by Yaffle, talks about the philosophical foundations of the law governing attempted crimes.

Likewise, Yaffe’s 2017 book, The Age of Culpability, discusses the philosophical grounds for leniency towards child criminals.
